Trade down between Latin America and United States

Eldinero.com reported that the surplus of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in merchandise trade with the United States declined by 35% from August to September was U.S. $ 2,520 million. The Latin American and Caribbean surplus in September accounted for 4.3% of the deficit in the trade of American goods in that month totaled U.S. $ 57,915 million. In the first nine months of this year the Latin American and Caribbean surplus has reached $ 43.753 million, compared with a surplus of U.S. $ 55,377 million in the similar period of 2011.
