TAME airlines suspends flights between Ecuador and Venezuela

FUNDS BELONGING TO TAME BEING HELD IN VENEZUELA CENTRAL BANK CAUSES SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS
obraspublicas.gov.ec reported that Mr. Fernando Guerrero, Gerente General de TAME EP reported that, as of January 23 the TAME company has decided to temporarily suspend regular air operations between Ecuador and Venezuela.
This decision has been taken solely by the non-transfer of funds belonging to the airline, which are in the Venezuelan Central Bank, the CADIVI Department, which is the center of control of currency in that country; on January 22, 2014 the existing values in the accounts of the airline in Venezuela are $ 43´174. 603, funds that have not been paid to TAME EP by concept of sale of tickets in Venezuela, from April 2013.
