Sonora Mexico: 21 municipalities declare state of emergency for weather

jornada.unam.mx reported The national coordination of Civil protection of the Ministry of the Interior issued Thursday a declaration of emergency for the municipalities of Hermosillo, Carbo, Benjamín Hill, Pitiquito, Caborca, Puerto Peñasco, General Plutarco Elías Calles, Santa Ana, Magdalena, Altar, Oquitoa, Saric, Atil, Tubutama, Trincheras, Imuris, Nogales, Santa Cruz, Cananea, Naco and Agua Prieta by the presence of tropical storm Odile on 16 and 17 September 2014. With this action, the resources of the Fund for the care of emergencies (Fonden) are activated. From this Declaration, requested by the State Government, the authorities will have the resources to meet the needs of food, shelter and health of the affected population. Read Article
