Soldiers caught transporting drugs in Colombia

Five soldiers and four civilians were caught carrying 603 kilos of cocaine while traveling along a highway in Colombia in the Antioquia area. The suspects were wearing camouflage clothing and were carrying weapons. According to Terra Noticias, a lieutenant and a corporal were among the arrested individuals. The van in which they travelled was stopped at a military checkpoint in Mutata, where the drug was discovered packed in boxes. Officials had intelligence that drug traffickers had been using the route. Police believe the drugs were being transported from Medellin to the Port of Turbo, where they could be shipped out of the country. Read Article
