Remergence of Chagas Disease in Argentina

A university professor and researcher at the CONICET alerted to the presence of vinchucas contaminated with the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, which causes the Chagas-Mazza in different parts of the Central Valley of Catamarca and the provincial capital.

The architect Marta Vigo noted that “Chagas had been quite controlled, but there is a resurgence because people have dropped their guard.”
