Red Alert for fire near Torres del Paine Chile

According to the expert opinion provided by the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), the Regional Office Onemi Magellan declared a red alert for the Province of Ultima Esperanza, due to an active wildfire located in the area known as Olguin, in the commune Torres del Paine.

This alert condition is mainly due to the location of the incident, an inaccessible mountainous area with steep slopes and commitment of native forest.

In addition, there are strong winds that facilitate transmission and so far, no reported involvement of nearby buildings in the area. Read Article
