Ecuador: Fire threatens Mazán Protected Forest in Cajas National Park

eltelegrafo.com reported that firefighters continue trying to control a wildfire in Cajas National Park. The fire has scorched at least 180 hectares. Firefighters are struggling to keep the flames out of the Mazán Protected Forest. The current fire is situated on a mountaintop and impossible to reach with firefighting vehicles. A helicopter with a bambi bucket is being used in attempt to squelch the fire. Read Article
