Quito, Ecuador: Security Operations begin in Historic Center

In Quito, the Zone Management Center, National and Metropolitan Police and Armed Forces are conducting joint security operations to improve public safety. Seventeen establishments were closed in May when four operations were performed. The operation aims to control land use, liquor sales, evaluate emergency situations, ventilation and sanitary conditions. Joint control was implemented in the sectors of Manuel Larrea, San Blas, the Historic District and Salinas Street. The National Police used intelligence information to guide parts of the operations.Read article
