Puno, Peru: Two Detained, Twelve Kilos of Cocaine Seized on Interprovincial Bus

From Peru21 on July 24, 2013- Police arrested two people at the Orjerani checkpoint on the Puno highway after confirming that they were attempting to smuggle 12 kilos of cocaine base on an interprovincial bus. The bus belonged to the bus company called Mi Peru. The authorities stated that the base of operations for the criminals was the Valley of the Rivers Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro, and their area of distribution included the departments of Madre de Dios, Cusco, and Puno.
