Citizens of the Buenos Aires towns, Arturo Seguí, La Loma, San Carlos, barrio Norte, Gorina Villa Elvira and Berisso have been complaining this week of severe power outages, blackouts and disruptions in their electrical service, according to eldia.com.ar. The complaints continue today as some residents have suffered outages all week that power company Edelap is blaming on a transformer problem. Power outages are common in Villa Elvira, but in the last three days the neighborhood has suffered 16 hour blocks with no power. Edelap claims a failure was detected in the distribution center that is affecting power in many areas. As for Villa Elvira, Edelap officials say too many residents have illegal electrical hook ups that it is constantly affecting regular service. In Berisso, Edelap has promised to replace aged internal electrical lines and upgrade transformers.
