Police Operation in Bahia, Brazil, Nets 2,500 Kilograms of Illegal Explosives

On April 5, 2013, A Tarde reported that a joint police force in the state of Bahia announced the results of a police operation seeking explosives. After surveying 23 municipalities, Operation Vulcan looked at 30 different companies in the state with connections to the sale of explosives, and police fined 14 of them. Eight of the businesses also had illicit lockers stuffed with explosives. As a result, police seized over 2,500 kilograms of explosives in total. It also recovered over 900 fuses.  Read Article
