Police in Goiás, Brazil, Arrest Three on Interstate Drug Charges

On April 9, 2013, Mais Goiás reported that three men were arrested today and charged with interstate drug trafficking. They were arrested near a car wash in Itumbiara, Goiás, that specializes in washing buses and large trucks. The men had been using the car wash as a base to deal drugs. What tipped the officers off was the unusual route the men, originally from Campinas, São Paulo, took. They transported the drugs directly from Campinas to Itumbiara: normally traffickers take a route through Mato Grosso or Mato Grosso do Sul to reach Goiás, the report says. The men, already with criminal histories in Campinas, will face drug trafficking charges.  Read Article
