Police in Brazil Discover R$40,000 Worth of Marijuana in Amazonas

On February 10, 2013, D24AM reported that police discovered 27 kilograms of marijuana on BR-319, valued at R$40,000. Police also arrested three individuals and charged them with drug trafficking. The drug was being transported by means of motorcycle between Porto Velho, Rondônia, and Manaus, the state capital of Amazonas. The action inflicted significant damage on a local gang of traffickers who conducted a drug route between the two aforementioned cities and Mato Grosso, a state monitored heavily by police already for drug trafficking.  Read Article
