Police Catch Driver in Brazil with Nearly 200 Kilograms of Marijuana

On February 8, 2013, the Polícia Militar of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul reported that it arrested a man yesterday with about 193 kilograms of marijuana in the trunk of his Hyundai. The arrest happened in Amambaí, some 350 kilometers south of Campo Grande, the state capital. The suspect said he picked the drug up in Ponta Porã, and was asked to take the drug all the way to Florianópolis, the state capital of Santa Catarina. The car had a São Paulo license plate, but the suspect said he was from the state of Rio Grande do Sul. He and the drugs were taken to the local police barracks in Amambaí.  Read Article
