Piauí, Brazil: Police declare Piauí new state for marijuana production

Globo reported on August 12, 2013 that the Civil and Military Police of Piauí conducted its largest seizure in the state, confiscating 1.5 tons of marijuana. Police report that the state of Piauí has become a new producer for marijuana as police over the recent months found several marijuana plantations in the area. A survey reveals that 87% of problems in the state are related to drugs. In addition, police report the state of Pernambuco receives these drugs. Read Article
