Peru Loosens Restrictions on Wiretapping for Kidnapping, Pedophilia and Human Trafficking

On August 22, 2013 Noticias Peru reported that the Peruvian government has amended its laws concerning wiretapping so that police no longer have to apply for a warrant or judicial authorization to conduct wiretaps for suspected crimes such as kidnapping, human trafficking, child pornography, aggravated robbery, extortion and drug trafficking. The amendment to Law No. 30076 is reportedly a response to the violence, social insecurity, crime, robberies and kidnappings occurring daily throughout Peru. Read Article
