Peru: Inter-Provincial bus attacked by eight assailants with rifles

On or about August 6, 2014, elcomercio.pe reported eight assailants attacked an inter-provincial bus. Armed with rifles and robbed and physically assaulted 50 passengers. Victims reported the roadway was blocked with rocks in order to stop the bus. Assailants then boarded the bus, diverted it to an area off the highway and then flattened the tires. The bus belongs to company “Real Chancas”. The robbery took place in Chiara, Huamanga, Ayacucho. Passengers complained that this is common occurrence in this area. Read Article
