Peru: Brother of President-Elect Ollanta Humala Talking Gas Projects With Russia

According to Peru21.pe the younger brother of President-elect Ollanta Humala, Alexis Humala has been negotiating gas projects with Russian government officials on behalf of the Humala government in the last few days. The article says that Alexis Humala has been talking to the Russian company Gazprom and it’s vice-president about possible cooperation and strategic alliances for gas projects. The article adds that Humala has meet with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavron about a staff increase in the Russian embassy in Peru. It is reported that Humala acted as a commissioner for the President-elect in these meetings as well. However, the Gana Peru party says they had no idea about these meetings and that Alexis Humala was acting on behalf of the president-elect Ollanta Humala. A representative for Humala says that they are not a governing body until late July, therefore Alexis Humala cannot represent anybody at the moment.Read Article
