Peru: Authorities Seize 224 Kilos of Cocaine, 13 Kilos of Marijuana on Amazon River

From rpp.com on July 15, 2013- Peruvian authorities seized 224 kilos of cocaine base and 13 kilos of marijuana on a boat that was travelling along the Amazon River in the Ramon Castilla province. There were three occupants of the boat, but two of them escaped into the surrounding jungle. The third suspect was hit by a bullet in the left leg, and was subsequently arrested. The detainee, Romel Escobedo Bazan, was transferred to Caballococha for treatment and interrogation.  In addition to the drugs and the boat, authorities also seized a motorcycle. Read Article
