Paraná, Brazil: efforts being made along border areas to curb illegal trafficking in birds, other wildlife

Agate triggered operation in Paraná, whose aim is to combat crime in border regions, among them international animal trafficking. Within the actions of the operation in Cascavel, west of the state, IBAMA and the Federal Police seized 103 birds irregular tournament corner. Authorities arrested 35 people in the act and plowed 49 notices of violation, which fines reach £ 80,000.
