Pará, Brazil: Police Operation in 20 Cities Detains 45 Suspects Accused of Drug Trafficking

Globo reported on June 21, 2013 that police operation “Combat II” with 76 arrest warrants, detained 45 suspects accused of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons and firearms in Pará. This operation occurred in 20 cities in which police confiscated cocaine, marijuana, shotguns, gunpowder, ammunition, and cash among other items. Some of the cities included in the operation were Altamira, Brief, Bragança, Capanema Salinópolis, Itaituba, Novo Progresso, Parauapebas Rondon do Pará, Redemption, Rio Maria, Santana do Araguaia and Muaná. Operation “Combat II” is a follow up of the original “Combat” operation, which began on May 14 of this year when police seized drugs and detained 60 suspects. Read Article
