Panama under health alert, deadly antibiotic resistant bacteria

Health authorities in Panama on Monday decreed an epidemiological alert upon detection of a bacterium resistant to a lot of antibiotics known as New Delhi carbapenemase metallo-type (NDM), medical sources. Among the sanitary activities in Panama include epidemiological surveillance and research as well as the steadily increasing participation of laboratories in the system for early detection of outbreaks in nursing homes.
