Ten people were arrested after a truck supposedly transporting a timber shipment was stopped in Pilar, Argentina. Over a ton of marijuana was discovered inside, El Siglo reports. The investigation leading to the capture began three months previously when officials realized there was a marijuana ring operating in the Pilar and González Catán areas. After obtaining intelligence that a timber truck would arrive in Pilar via Route 25, police were able to stop the most recent shipment. Eight people were arrested. A GMC van was also seized during the operation, which belonged to a leader of the ring and had a false bottom, used for small-scale drug transport. Six other raids occurred at the same time, in which two others were arrested and various items were seized, including telephones and scales. Read Article
