Over 16 tons of synthetic drugs found on South Korean vessel in Manzanillo, Mexico

Through a joint security effort, officials were able to find over 16 tons of synthetic drugs on board a vessel from Xin Yan Tai, South Korea that had made its way to the port in Manzanillo, Mexico. The chemical discovered was methylamine, which is used to create synthetic drugs. According to Uniradio Informa, the drugs were located inside a container on the ship, in which there were 640 sacks of drugs, each weighing 25 kilos. The Federal Public Ministry continues to investigate the discovery as a crime against public health. No arrests have been reported. Read Article
