Officials destroy clandestine airstrip in Peru

The Peruvian Army Patrol, along with anti-narcotics and terrorism police, located and destroyed a clandestine airstrip near the Palcazu River. The runway was found near Ciudad Constitucion, Diario Correo reports. It was 1,000 meters long and 50 meters wide. Trees and vegetation had been cut back to permit visibility. Officials presume the runway was used for drug trafficking. Explosives were used to dismantle the runway. Read Article
