Narco-Terrorist Attack in Peru Indicates New Drug Trafficking Route

El Comercio reports on May 10, 2012 that an attack occurred in Quellouno, Peru. Experts agree that this attack indicates an attempt to open a new drug trafficking route in the area. Quellouno is positioned within easy access to Calca, Arequipa, Puno, and Cusco. Narco-trafficking expert Peter Yarango states a few narco-terrorists have been monitoring this route. These narco-terrorists have been acting as snipers. Yarago believes their actions are intended to distract, occupy and disperse law enforcement resources. The terrorist Marco Antonio Quispe Palomino (“Comrade Gabriel”) is thought to be involved.The police have requested new weapons and ammunition to combat the attackers because the current stock dates back to World War II.
