Randall D. Bell an American citizen from Arkansas and Missouri lived in Ecuador for approximately five years. The volunteer group on Facebook Ecuador Emergency was alerted on September 28, 2018, that Mr. Bell’s whereabouts were not known and the last email contact with family in the U.S. was on or about November 22, 2017.

Mr. Bell(age 67) was a retired employee from Union Pacific Railroad. Over the last five years he had lived in various parts of Ecuador often living in hotels or short term rentals for extended periods of time. He then would move to another location to explore the country. It is reported that he did not have a cellphone and his only means of communication sporadically with his family was through email.

Family members believed that he was keeping in touch with other members of the family and about two weeks ago became concerned after his birthday had passed. A family member contacted the U.S. embassy in Quito Ecuador. The embassy stated they could not release information due to “privacy concerns” but reported he was no longer in Ecuador and believed to have returned to the United States.

Randall Bell’s family filed a missing persons report through the police in Kansas City Missouri. Authorities discovered that Mr. Bell was deceased sometime in November of 2017, in Marion County Florida. Apparently he suffered a heart attack. His remains were cremated and one family member states that the family was never informed of his death or his personal belongings turned over to the family. The family is now is investigating as to exactly what happened and are extremely upset and concerned that his death was not reported to the family.

Public Information Officer Lauren Lettelier of Marion County Sheriff’s Office explained to latinamericacurrentevents.com that their records show no death of a Randall D. Bell in November of 2017. She recommended to contact Ocala, Florida police department as his case may have come under their jurisdiction.
