Mexican Trafficker Detained in the Dominican Republic, Wanted by Peru

From lainformacion.com on June 28, 2013- Dominican police arrested Mexico’s Antonio Avalos last week in Las Americas International Airport. Avalos was wanted by Peruvian authorities on charges of drug trafficking. The Secretary General of Interpol had already warned Dominican authorities of Avalos arrival in the Dominican Republic, so the Dominican police were able to make the arrest at the airport. Police chief, Major General Manuel Castro Castillo, highlighted this as an example of how international cooperation can help dismantle and stop transnational organized crime in the region.
