Margarita Island, controversy over dog killings

23 dogs died from poisoning in the shell. The Regional Directorate of Health stated that there are 700 reports of persons bitten, but animal rights activists doubt the figure.On September 27 the alert spread through social networks: animal shelters and homeless dogs Proamar warned that the Department of Health New Sparta had ordered a slaughter of stray dogs. The event killed 23 dogs in 2 days in Valdez beach or the conch, as it is known. And although it was set that lasted 2 days, the management suspended the measure because of the protests.
