Inamhi warns increase of flows in Los Ríos and Guayas after the last rains

ecuavisa.com reported the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) , warns the danger for several populations of Los Ríos and Guayas by the increase of the flow of the currents, caused by the intense rains of the last days.
In a recent report of this entity it is indicated: “The San Pablo River, in red alert, levels rising, possible affected populations Babahoyo, Guayaquil, Durán, Balsapamba, Samborondón, Tarita and settlements located in its borders”. Read Full Article

Inamhi coordinator Raúl Mejía added that intense rains will persist in Guayaquil, in towns of Manabí, Los Ríos, El Oro and Santa Elena, and he described them as “the forts of the last 19 years”
Products of these rains, in Guayaquil were zones vulnerable to landslides. According to authorities of the local municipality, one of them is the hill of Carmen, where a house was about to collapse the morning of February 21, 2017.
While in the northwest zone several ditches collapsed and the area can be flooded, so a plan of action is prepared throughout the city. As brigades of the Department of Risks, they evaluate the situation in other sectors of the central zone of the mountain range. Read Article
