Londrina, Brazil: Police Operation Combat Drug Trafficking in Border Region

odiario.com reported on August 14, 2013 that 70 federal police officers participated in Operation “Caturra” designed to combat drug trafficking in the region of Londrina near Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. The investigation, which began in February of this year, has arrested 12 people in total while seizing 600 pounds of marijuana, 60 pounds of crack, ammunition, and a firearm. Police report money from drug sales was used to buy vehicles in exchange for drugs in the border area with Paraguay. Read Article
