Latin America: Albistas hidden interests

The integration of Alba is not how it looks from the governments, as in trade, which is the heart of all integration is emerging. The relationship of this block with Iran is not smooth, rather it is merely discursive and propaganda. Physical distances, economic and cultural rights are difficult to overcome with a country that is virtually unknown to the albistas. This was also interpreted last week’s visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Ecuador. From the geopolitical view, this is a dangerous liaison with few returns for the countries, and security, where there are greater risks, because Iran is behind terrorist groups like Hezbollah, whose activities are linked to drug trafficking, weapons and money laundering. Its presence in Latin America was reported in the 90’s.

Relations between Iran and the countries of ALBA have opened in the region not only formal ties but also informal. This has occurred in areas where, according to intelligence sources consulted, networks called “sleeper cells” that are part of internationally qualified organizations as terrorists. Read Article
