La Laja, Bolivia: 400 Kilos of Cocaine Seized, Two Arrested

From La Republica on July 26, 2013- An intelligence group, the Special Force against Drug Trafficking in Bolivia (FELCN), seized nearly 400 kilos of Peruvian cocaine in the city of La Laja, Boliva. The drugs were hidden in the fuel tank of a truck on the road known as Desaguadero. The drugs were destined for Brazil, but first would have to pass through La Paz. According to authorities, this is the largest blow to drug trafficking in Bolivia so far this year. There is evidence that the drugs came from the central jungle of Peru known as the VRAEM. In addition to the drugs, two men from Cochabamba were arrested whose family has links with international drug organizations. Read Article
