Italian attempts to fly from Costa Rica to Spain with cocaine-stuffed shampoo bottle

Drug control police arrested Italian citizen Pironti (35) at the Juan Santamaría airport in Costa Rica on May 4, 2014. The suspect was arrested when officials discovered a plastic bag of cocaine stuffed into an empty shampoo bottle inside his suitcase. The cocaine weighed 724 grams, according to Telenoticias. Pironti had been flying from San José to Madrid. Others have been taken into custody in the Juan Santamaría airport for drug trafficking schemes. Last week, a man and a woman were arrested in possession of drugs. Alfaro Ramírez (21) of Guatemala passed through the airport on a Panama-Guatemala route with 89 ovules in his stomach, or 1,206 grams of heroin. A woman identified as Perez Fernandez (24) also attempted to fly to Madrid from San José and was arrested with 4,300 grams of cocaine and 1,200 euros. Read Article
