International drug ring disrupted in Germany; Drugs shipped from Dominican Republic

Spanish police assisted in bringing down an international drug ring consisting of Dominican Republican citizens who attempted to introduce cocaine to Spain via German ports. According to Al Momento, investigations concerning the organization began in August 2011. During the recent operation, 135 kilos of cocaine were seized and 9 people were arrested at the port of Hamburg. The Dominicans involved in the ring are reported to have been residing in Spain and Germany. Two suspects, one from Barcelona, and one from Landshut, Germany, were caught in 2011 after attempting to smuggle money on a flight from Barcelona to Madrid and the Dominican Republic. Read Article
