Injuries keep Argentine President from Mercosur Summit in Paraguay

President Cristina Kirchner will not be traveling to Paraguay today for the Mercosur Summit per medical advice discouraging flying after she tripped and hit her head at an institute opening last Wednesday. According to lanacion.com.ar, the Presidential Medical Unit issued a statement saying the president will not be traveling as a precaution, but that she is performing all other regular duties. The Mercosur Summit is an annual meeting between the heads of state of Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina to discuss economic, social and political issues. Read Article
