Ecuador: Vice-President openly disagrees with President Moreno’s measures

(Prensa Latina) Ecuador”s deputy president Jorge Glas issued today a statement expressing publicly his differences with various measures and stance taken by incumbent President Lenin Moreno.
On the official website of the vice presidency and the social networks, Glas criticized the possible implementation of a package of economic measures, which in his view, will damage the Ecuadorian people.

‘The return of the old times in the country is being settled by distributing it and building the proper scenario to lead to institutionalized corruption,’ said Glas in his message to the Ecuadorian public opinion.

Glas reiterated his support for the fight against corruption led during the government of Rafael Correa in 10 years of the Citizen Revolution.

Regarding the alleged economic cuts announced, the Ecuadorian presidential adviser Ricardo Patiño ruled out the implementation of a package of measures and denied that the country’s economy was managed in a disastrous way in the last ten years.  Read Article
