Honduras: Authorities seize 160 kilos cocaine, Puerto Cortes, lacks radar coverage

Tegucigalpa. Honduras Police seized 160 kilos of cocaine that were hidden in a false compartment of a cargo transportation in Puerto Cortes (Caribbean), and arrested a person allegedly linked to the stash, reported an official source .

A National Police spokesman told reporters that the stash was found late Tuesday in the cargo that was parked at a gas station in Puerto Cortes….. The airspace, sea and land in Honduras is used by South American drug traffickers who send shipments of cocaine into the United States. According to the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Honduras, René Osorio, in the country about two planes land daily transporting drugs, but can not be detected because the U.S. suspended radar assistance to the Central American country…..
