Nilo Cachay Ojeda, the leading drug supplier in Alto Huallaga, was captured by national police in an operation that took place along the Fernando Belaúnde Terry highway between the cities of Aucayacu and Tocache in Peru. He is known to supply drugs to cartels in Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil, reports Info Región. He was captured with three accomplices: Augusto Díaz Bravo (37), Carlos Alberto Acuña Espíritu (45), and Iván Segundo Camacho Mejía (31). Two others escaped authorities by fleeing to nearby mountains under the cover of darkness. The police were able to find the traffickers after learning about a shipment to Aucayacu. Authorities were then able to conduct intelligence investigations that led to the capture. Three bags of drugs packed into bricks were found in a vehicle, and some drug traces were detected on the floor. After testing, the substance tested positively as cocaine paste. The total weight was 67 kilos and 820 grams. Read Article
