Guayaquil, Ecuador: Police Raid Storage Area, Find Stolen Medical Drugs

According to Cre.com.ec police and Guayas Prosecutor’s Office raided a sector of the Guayaquil bay on June 3rd, encountering a large amount of false and stolen medicines. Police say they also found large amounts of packaging, brochures, and altered labels for the medicines. The prosecutor Francisco Bodero says that the quantity of drugs were worth $6,000. Police say they arrested four people during the raid. Officials report that the drugs will be sent to a laboratory in Argentina for testing. The drugs recovered were internationally branded and included HIV medicines and cream to make the scopolamine drug, a date-rape drug. Officials add that they believe these drugs have killed and caused bodily harm to people.Read Article
