Guayaquil Ecuador: Bag left unattended at LAN counter, security slow to respond

On December 21, 2012, a passenger arrived at the LAN counter at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport. This incident was at about 3:30 am. The bag set unattended for at least a half hour before a member of security personel approached the bag and luckily the owner finally walked up to the bag and claimed it. Personnel told him not to leave it unattended. The man stood by the bag – The security person then walked away to talk to a female passenger in the waiting area. The man standing by the bag again left with the bag unattended.
