Guayaquil Ecuador: Authorities set into place new strategies against crime

POLICE/MILITARY TO ENGAGE IN JOINT PATROLS
The governor of Guayas, Viviana Bonilla announced that the strategies are being defined to resume joint patrols of the armed forces with the National Police. This part of the meeting of the Provincial Security Council held this Friday in the city.

The governor met with security officials and other agencies at the headquarters of the Transit Commission of Ecuador (CTE) in Guayaquil, to discuss the crime rate, making the comparison of the second quarter of 2012 over the same period of 2011 .

For example the hijacking ‘express’, according to figures presented, has been reduced by 42%, murders and assaults on people have had a 35% average, while attacks on homes and stealing vehicles or motorcycles have increased from 13% to 40%. Read Article
