Five thousand board feet of illegal timber found in clandestine mill, Peru

Five thousand board feet of Shihuahuaco timber were found in a clandestine mill along the Fernando Belaúnde Terry highway in the Puerto Inca province of Peru, Diario Correo reports. Commissioner Victor Leon Garcia said officials arrived at the mill and found the timber covered with black drapings. The total value of the timber is estimated to be at 19 thousand 394 soles. Eloy Chujutalli Aspajo is said to be the owner, and official documents for the timber were not present. Diario Correo does not state whether investigations continue or if any arrests have been made.
