Five people taken into custody for drug trafficking in Tacuarembó, Uruguay

In an operation called “Maraya,” the anti-narcotics brigade in Tacuarembó, Uruguay broke up a drug trafficking gang by arresting five suspects on May 30, 2012. A trial is pending for the arrestees, Eric Paul Bravo Dos Santos (21), Enri Franco Bravo Dos Santos (27), a woman with the initials B.G.D.M (29), Julio César Techera (48), and José Bautista Rodríguez Gómez (age not reported). They were arrested on various charges, such as drug dealing and drug transportation. The operation took place on Route 5 in front of the municipal farm, where a large quantity of marijuana, cocaine and cocaine base was found in the possession of a charter bus passenger.
