El Salvador, retired army colonel detained for selling rifles

According to prosecutors, the retired colonel registered and marketed two weapons with altered series and even one of the rifles had another weapon pieces seized from kidnappers in 2001. A retired colonel in the Armed Forces of El Salvador (FAES) was detained on Thursday in San Salvador, the National Civil Police (PNC) charged with the crime of arbitrary and illegal trade and storage of firearms. Salvador is Alberto Gonzalez Quezada, who until December 31, 2011 was the head of the Logistics Division of the FAES, a position he held for two years.
