El Salvador confirms first death from swine flu in 2012

The Ministry of Health of El Salvador today confirmed the first death from swine flu so far this year and reported that there have been nearly one hundred cases, but reaffirmed that the disease has not yet reached levels epidemic. The fatality is a child of one year and a half old native of La Libertad (center), who died on 9 May at the State Hospital Benjamin Bloom, San Salvador, told Efe a spokesman for the Ministry of Health. In principle, there were doubts about the causes of death of the child, because, according to Deputy Health Minister Eduardo Espinoza, also suffered from cerebral palsy and pneumonia, but was finally confirmed that influenza A, against which was not vaccinated.
