El Alto, Bolivia: Peruvian Drugs Prevented from Reaching Brazil

From lainformacion.com on August 1, 2013- Bolivian police seized 144 kilos of Peruvian cocaine from the car of a Bolivian citizen who was planning to transport the drug to Brazil. The operation was carried out in a Bolivian town on the border with Peru. It is believed that the drugs came from the VRAEM region of Peru. During the first half of the year, Bolivian authorities have arrested 211 foreigners involved in drug trafficking, mostly Colombians, Peruvians and Argentines, and seized 9.7 tons of cocaine.
