Ecuadorian Police Investigate 2 Networks of Crime Organizations

According to ElComercio.com the arrest of Dan D., a foreigner ten days ago, is an important break in bringing down an international crime organization involved in drug and weapons trafficking. Ecuadorian police say this man along with two accomplices who were also arrested, are important players in a crime network that carries out many illegal activities in Ecuador including extortion and kidnapping. Police add, one suspect has connections to narco-trafficking organizations in Mexico and investigators determine the organization has ties to criminals in Israel, Holland, Peru, Mexico and possibly Argentina and Colombia. Furthermore, in March, the police unit of organized crime (ULCO) dismantled an international crime network in an operation ‘Extasis,’ targeting narco-traffickers using people in airports to traffic drugs.Read Article
