Ecuador: Provinces border Colombia reported 142 cases of extortion in 11 years

The Carchi on the border with Colombia, has registered about 80 cases of extortion in 11 years, according to figures from the Anti-Kidnapping and Extortion Unit (Join) of the Police. During this same period, in other border provinces have reported 31 cases in Esmeraldas and 31 in Sucumbios. However, since 2001 the province where more is extortion have occurred Pichincha (390), followed by Gauteng (93) and Manabi (57).
