Ecuador: President establishes family reunification plan for Ecuadorians that want to return home

publico.es reported that the government of President Rafael Correa is not interested in the migrant “as a business” that produces remittances but as “human” and the goal of this plan is to achieve “family reunification,” Escudero said. Under the plan, migrants wishing to return to their country will also benefit from access to loans to develop businesses in Ecuador, and facilities for housing, education and health. The National Immigration Secretary explained that the plan provides for special measures for the “most vulnerable” and also to recover the “talents” who left the country. Read Article
